Am I making Any Sense?

The Relecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial has once again been drained, and is totally closed and fenced off,

Donald is still claiming vandalism the problem at the rather than incompetence. In the same neighborhead, Donald has also spent 5 million dollars regilding two statues that frame Memorial Bridge as you drive to or from the Lincoln Memorial. The restored monuments appear ugly and garish to most people, but apparently not to Donald, who finds them beautiful.

Whether they were also gilded with incompetence, by the way, we will see. Check back in a few weeks and we will see how they look.

But back to the reflecting pool.  In spite of her earlier outlandish assurances that the reflecting pool was destroyed by vandalism (something we always knew was false), U.S. Attorney Pirro has now concluded that vandalism played no role, and that the fault lay in the way Trump’s friendly installers screwed up the job. This is probably true, and, and was probably always the case. And Pirro’s original claim that Olympic star David Hearn and certain others destroyed the Pool was inexcusable.

But Trump, who doesn’t care who suffers because of his uncalled for conclusions as to who was at blame, continues to lie about what happened with no factual basis.

He is one sick president. And the people who continue to support him are equally sick.

We spent several hours with friends last night bemoaning Trump and his supporters, wondering once again how so many bad things are happening.  The group of us were on average about 80 years old.

Younger Americsns are not spending their time complaining like we are last night. One reason is that they are spending their time working and raising their children. We aren’t doing either of those things. We have time to complain about how the world is changing. And we spend a lot of times talking about how sad we find the world to be. We are impatient for things to improve.

At age 80, we hope to see who  the next president elected in 2028 will be, and if the next president will help bring things get better. If the president elected in 2028 is successful, he/she will likely be re-elected in 2032 for a second term. In 2032, I will turn 90 years old. Whether I will still be alive, I don’t know.

But if I were 45 years old, I  would most likely live to see about 10 more presidential elections. I would look towards the future differently than I view it when in my 80s. I would be much more patient.

Am I making any sense?
